Some good old straight up thrash metal here, coming out of an unusual location...Atlanta, GA, which has got to be one of the most metal-resistant of the major US cities. I notice that one of SADISTIC RITUAL’s guitarists is Alex Parra, who also plays in hotly touted Atlanta band PALADIN. Hmmm, maybe something’s starting to stir down in Dixie…

Anyway, whereas PALADIN was more of a shredding melodic kind of speed metal, SADISTIC RITUAL is more of a bloodthirsty SLAYER-ish kind of band.  There’s also hints of VIO-LENCE and very early DEATH ANGEL here.  The title track is OK but nothing spectacular, but when we get to “Double Crossed”, the band really begins to cook. The vocals are raw and raspy, more of an early KREATOR tone to them. “Executioner’ continues the virulent bludgeoning with a riff barrage and then “Mutually Assured Destruction” starts off with a truly crushing mid-paced mosh riff of unbridled power.

No wheel reinvention going on here but SADISTIC RITUAL keeps their ambitions simple...rabid thrash American style! Come get some…
