The Pacific Northwest is on fire with raging torrents of extreme metal! This area of the country has produced the likes of FETID, CEREBRAL ROT, WITCHVOMIT and now SLUTVOMIT just in the last couple of weeks. What’s the difference, if any, between WITCHVOMIT and SLUTVOMIT, you may ask? Only true connoisseurs can tell…

The SLUTS seem to be much more oriented towards brain-smashing war metal while the WITCHES seem to favor sick death with morbid overtones.  You bet your pentagram that neither one has much time for the church. The SLUTS initiate their attack with hyper-thrashing war metal in the style of ANGELCORPSE, old KRISIUN and ancient South American masters. A whole album of superfast and relentless bangers like “Endless Graves” and “Scythe of Mass Damnation” would have been tedious to listen to ala DEIPHAGO, but these guys are smart enough to throw some variation into things. The title track slows things way down with a real cool doomy grind of the kind BATHORY was known for. Then “Baphomet’s Call” kicks in with a supercool arpeggiated riff that is fast but not insanely so. “Evil Commands You” hits a kind of thrashy SODOM vibe that is quite catchy.

So SLUTVOMIT clears your sinuses with a dose of napalm before they show their chops on the rest of the album, resulting in a record that combines maniacal war metal with something more akin to the classics like POSSESSED, SODOM, etc. The originality quotient is expectedly low but these demons know what they’re up to and “Copulation of Cloven Hooves” provides 40 minute or so of hell spawned devil metal.
