AGNOSTIC FRONT "Get Loud!"

AGNOSTIC FRONT

“Get Loud”

AGNOSTIC FRONT is one of the most critic-proof bands in the universe. It matters not one whit what any pundit or scribe’s opinion of them is, they will stay true to their style and their fans stay true to them. Is there any point to analyzing their output? Not really.

“Get Loud” delivers the expected New York Hardcore anthems dealing with the “glory days” of a New York mostly long past and the tribulations of life on the street. And who better to do it? AF is not going to suddenly turn into DREAM THEATER 30 years in. With “Get Loud’, we get a somewhat varied selection of pummeling hardcore, with some classics and some filler mixed together. “Spray Painted Walls” opens the attack with maximum crunchiness but a more mid-paced kind of a stomp. “Anti Social”, “Isolated” and “Pull The Trigger” are some of the heavier, meaner, more thrash-oriented tunes. “I Remember” and the title track deliver the anthems with punk feeling and singalong choruses. We even get an instrumental, “AF Stomp”. Some of the cuts like “In The Blood” are pretty cookie cutter and were probably written in less than 5 minutes.

Through it all, Roger’s peculiar bawling yelp remains the same. It’s solid street music to get the blood racing and the fists pumping. That’s all AGNOSTIC FRONT has always been, it’s what they will always be, and there’s zero shame or drawback to that. This is for the long time AF faithful.
