MOROS "Weapon"

"Weapon"

Another dose of sludge death full of hate and self-loathing. Another one, ho hum. This stuff is starting to seem like "product" rolling off an assembly line more than any form of inspired creation. Do we really need more like "Weapon"? Survey says: you can do without.

There are riffs here that will somewhat hold your attention..."Wizard of Loneliness" and the title track are the most notable...but through it all, we just have the feeling that this has all been done before. Moros are like a combination of Primitive Man and Eyehategod. Yes, they are that negative. Not exactly a surprise when you see song titles like "We Don't Deserve Death" and "Every Day Is Worse Than the Last". The most cookie cutter aspect of this are the yowling, screeching vocals, the kind which are de rigeur for nasty sludge. These get tiresome in a hurry.

I acknowledge that Moros main goal is to make the listener feel like shit, but this is a pretty boilerplate way of doing that, without any special flair or individuality. Nothing essential here.
